The scripture for this week is: Esther Chapters 1 and 2 Scripture Summary Chapter 1 - The Great RefusalWhen a person is rejected or abandoned it doesn't feel good. It may cause low self esteem one may feel that a person doesn't want them. Now in the book of Esther there were refusals on both sides. 1. Queen Vashti - Vashti refused to go to the king to show off her beauty. I am sure that Vashti did not want to be around a bunch of drunks staring at her. She must of thought I am more than a piece of meat. She must've felt betrayed by the very person that should have protected her. So Vashti refused to be used. I am sure that she wanted the king to love and protect her. And to show her off right. By treating her right. So in this refusal she lost her crown.2. King Ahuserus (Xerxes) - He was rejected by Queen Vashti and in his anger he refused her queen-ship. He was embarrassed before all of his guests he was rejected. Rejection causes anger and deep hurt. It is hard to forgive and forget. The feeling that is left from rejection is like a burning in your heart. Jesus is a great example of rejection. In Isiah 53:3 it explains how Jesus was rejected by the very people that He died for:He was despised and rejected— a man of sorrows, acquainted with deepest grief. We turned our backs on him and looked the other way. He was despised, and we did not care. Even though Jesus was rejected He loved us and saw the big picture and endured the cross so that we will have a second chance at life. His love was beyond measure that He paved a way for you and me. We know that all things work together for the good of them that love GOD and are the called and according to GODs purpose. Yes, even rejection. It is working for the good. Turn that rejection around and do not let it dictate your life to you. Get out of that rut and allow Jesus to love you like no other. GOD does all things well and has a purpose for everyone's life. Even in rejection GOD will cause His love to envelope you and fill that void. Questions for Chapter 1 - The Great
