Psalms 22

"My GOD, My GOD, why have you forsaken me?" David is crying out to the Lord. We hear this familiar cry when our Lord Jesus Christ was on the cross. If you read this Psalm in its entirety you will find Jesus. Much of Jesus' agony is described in this Psalm.

Jesus cried out Eli Eli lama sabachthani that is to say My GOD, My GOD why hast Thou forsaken Me? Matthew 27:46 The flesh was crying out to GOD. Jesus on the cross asked GOD The Father why He had left Him. GOD did not leave but knew the big picture to save you and me.

Sometimes we have to go through to see what GOD has for us on the other side of the trial. On the other side of the cross came elevation to GODs right hand for Jesus. On the other side of the trials was Kingship for David. On the other side of betrayal was a great deliverance for Joseph.

Sometimes it is so that our faith can be strengthened, endurance can be built, patience can be developed. All good qualities that GOD wants us to develop so that when He elevates us we can handle where He is taking us.

For GOD has said "I will never leave you nor forsake thee."

I will declare your name to my people; in the assembly I will praise you. 23 You who fear the LORD, praise him! All you descendants of Jacob, honor him! Revere him, all you descendants of Israel! 24 For he has not despised or scorned the suffering of the afflicted one; he has not hidden his face from him but has listened to his cry for help. 25 From you comes the theme of my praise in the great assembly; before those who fear you I will fulfill my vows. 26 The poor will eat and be satisfied; those who seek the LORD will praise him— may your hearts live forever!
