The Lord is so awesome. He gave us authority over all the power of the enemy. And I know that but sometimes my mind and mouth is not aligning with what I know to be true and I need just a touch, push, a smile from the Lord. I think this is where David was when writing this Psalm. He began to cry out "O' Lord my rock; be not silent to me: lest, if thou be silent to me, I become like them that go down into the pit." David was feeling alone. I am reminded in 1 Samuel 22:1 David found refuge In the Cave Adullam. David needed a refreshing and GOD sent David's family. A familiar face, a since of normalcy, a break!!!! GOD knows just what we need to get us going again. And GOD did just that for David. Later in this Psalm you will see that GOD heard David's cry David said, "Praise be to the Lord, for He has heard my cry for mercy."
If you can relate to David or are feeling like you need a break; cry out to the Lord, call someone that you can truly trust to give you Godly wisdom.
GOD will draw you away from the wicked and the workers of iniquity and give you rest.
I won't give up. The Lord is my shield, my buckler, my strong tower and I will stand. I am who GOD says I am, fearfully and wonderfully made.
The Lord is my strength and my shield; my heart trusted in Him, and I am helped: therefore my heart greatly rejoices and with my song I will praise Him.
1 To you, Lord, I call; you are my Rock, do not turn a deaf ear to me. For if you remain silent, I will be like those who go down to the pit. 2 Hear my cry for mercy as I call to you for help, as I lift up my hands toward your Most Holy Place. 3 Do not drag me away with the wicked, with those who do evil, who speak cordially with their neighbors but harbor malice in their hearts. 4 Repay them for their deeds and for their evil work; repay them for what their hands have done and bring back on them what they deserve. 5 Because they have no regard for the deeds of the Lord and what his hands have done, he will tear them down and never build them up again. 6 Praise be to the Lord, for he has heard my cry for mercy. 7 The Lord is my strength and my shield; my heart trusts in him, and he helps me. My heart leaps for joy, and with my song I praise him. 8 The Lord is the strength of his people, a fortress of salvation for his anointed one. 9 Save your people and bless your inheritance; be their shepherd and carry them forever.
