In this Psalms David is crying out to GOD to have mercy upon him. Sometimes you have to tell GOD just how you feel. Let it all out, cry it all out. David said to the Lord, "Have mercy upon me, O Lord; for I am weak: O Lord, heal me; for my bones are vexed. My vision is blurred by grief; my eyes are worn out because of all my enemies." Then David remembers that his GOD is bigger than any problem he has and says with confidence and surety, Depart from me, all ye workers of iniquity; for the Lord has heard the voice of my weeping. The Lord heard my cry; the Lord will receive my prayer. Let all my enemies be ashamed and sore vexed: Let them return and be ashamed suddenly.
*Selah Moment: David said, "I am weary with my groaning all the night... I water my couch with tears." How many have been up late at night watering their couch with tears? Let me tell you, you have a GOD that has never lost a war, that is mighty in battle and He cares for you. You will not falter!! He will not let you!!! In the words of Natalie Grant "There is nothing to dirty that GOD can't make worthy washed me in mercy. I am clean."
I like Psalms 5 on yesterday because it talks about spending quiet time with the Lord. And when you spend sometime with the Lord, He will show you what's to come and provide comfort so when it happens you are not surprised but you are prepared. Make it a daily habit to meditate on the Lord Jesus Christ. In Jesus Name Amen.
*Selah means ponder, to consider.
O Lord, rebuke me not in thine anger, neither chasten me in thy hot displeasure. 1 Have mercy upon me, O Lord; for I am weak: O Lord, heal me; for my bones are vexed. My soul is also sore vexed: but thou, O Lord, how long? Return, O Lord, deliver my soul: oh save me for thy mercies' sake. For in death there is no remembrance of thee: in the grave who shall give thee thanks? I am weary with my groaning; all the night make I my bed to swim; I water my couch with my tears. Mine eye is consumed because of grief; it waxeth old because of all mine enemies. Depart from me, all ye workers of iniquity; for the Lord hath heard the voice of my weeping. The Lord hath heard my supplication; the Lord will receive my prayer. Let all mine enemies be ashamed and sore vexed: let them return and be ashamed suddenly. Psalms 6 KJV
