Psalms 77 - Endure

Sometimes we go through things and people get on our nerves and we do not necessarily mind that we are out of favor with people but it is another thing to feel like we are out of favor with GOD. In this Psalm the writer clearly feels like he is alone and that he is out of favor with GOD. He has thrown his own pity party because things are not going his way and in his timing. The writer prayed. He recalls that GOD is gracious and he starts to think on things that will strengthen him. He remembers how GOD brought him out of the last trial and reflects on GODs faithfulness and power. Always remember that GOD loves you. When we are feeling in distant from GOD, this is when we must turn into GOD chasers. Sometimes we beat ourselves up because we love GOD so much that we do not want to disappoint Him. Other times we throw a pity party and when GOD doesn't respond to it, we think that GOD doesn't love us. GOD loves us!!! He just wants us to mature and keep pressing. We feel like we can't handle some things but GOD knows what He has put in us to defeat the enemy or to get through the trial and so when He doesn't respond that is only to say, "you got this, you are fearfully and wonderfully made".

It is easy to fall into a pity party and "woe its me". I often say it is not how you fall but how you get up from the fall that counts.

This is for the mature: So you have been hit but continue on. Are you going to fall down and weep or are you going to realize that you have been hit, seek GODs face, learn from it and press on. It only comes to make you stronger. Sometimes we are placed in situations to build up our endurance. Once your endurance is built up you are no longer crying but you are wise and working on your next move. Endure!!! GODs got you.

Selah Moment

With your mighty arm you redeemed your people, the descendants of Jacob and Joseph.

Meditation

I praise you because I am fearfully and wonderfully made; your works are wonderful, I know that full well. Psalms 139:14
