Renew Your Mind 2021 - Prayer

In Philippians 4:6-7 it instructs us to pray boldly:

Be careful for nothing; but in every thing by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let your requests be made known unto God.

And the peace of God, which passeth all understanding, shall keep your hearts and minds* through Christ Jesus.

GOD wants us to come boldly before the throne of grace. Do not be careful for nothing in other words do not come to prayer doubting, do not come to the throne and in the back of your mind you are already giving up. Come Bold with the surety that it is already done!!!!!

In Daniel 3:16 it reads:

Shadrach, Meshach and Abednego answered and said to the king, O' Nebuchadnezzar we are not careful to answer thee in this matter."

Now that was bold.

They go on to say, "If it be so, Our GOD whom we serve is able to deliver us from the burning fiery furnace and He will deliver us out of thine hand, O King.

This is where the boldness goes to another level.

Verse 18

But if not, ne known unto thee, O king that we will not serve thy gods, nor worship the golden image which thou hast setup.

What they are saying is if GOD delivers us or He doesn't one thing for sure we will not serve/worship thy gods. We do not love our life unto death. We are so in love with The Lord that we will keep His commandments, In thou shall not worship no other gods.

So be careful nothing but in everything by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let your requests be made know unto GOD.

Supplication - Asking GOD humbly

Make sure that your boldness is not mixed with arrogance.

Supplication with thanksgiving - Asking GOD humbly with thanks, appreciation, gratitude let your requests be made known unto GOD with assurance that it is already done.

In the book of Mark, Jesus tells when we pray, believe that ye receive them, and ye shall have them. Let's take a look:

Mark 11:22-26

22 And Jesus answering saith unto them, Have faith in God.

23 For verily I say unto you, That whosoever shall say unto this mountain, Be thou removed, and be thou cast into the sea; and shall not doubt in his heart, but shall believe that those things which he saith shall come to pass; he shall have whatsoever he saith.

24 Therefore I say unto you, What things soever ye desire, when ye pray, believe that ye receive them, and ye shall have them.

25 And when ye stand praying, forgive, if ye have ought against any: that your Father also which is in heaven may forgive you your trespasses.

26 But if ye do not forgive, neither will your Father which is in heaven forgive your trespasses.

So Pray Bold, Humble, with appreciation and gratitude.

I know that may sound like something we always say but Pray!!!!! It worked for Daniel, David, Elijah, Elisha, Peter, Paul, I can go on and on.

Daniel's Prayer

When he prayed he had a certain format that we can all take page out of his book and learn from it.

Read his prayer in Chapter 9:3

I will break it down in 6 points

  • Daniel acknowledges GODs sovereignty, His holiness, His faithfulness (verse 4)

  • Daniel acknowledges His and the people's sin. He goes on to say that we have done wickedly and rebelled even by departing from your precepts and judgments. (verse 5-16)

  • He acknowledges that they are still in sin and they have not prayed and turned from their iniquities to understand GODs truth (verse 13)

  • Daniel acknowledges, righteousness, mercy and forgiveness belongs to The Lord (verse 6)

  • He acknowledges that disaster has come upon them (verse 14)

  • And Then Daniel makes his request know and pleads with GOD (verse 17-19)

When you pray focus on The Lord and follow the aforementioned points and bless GOD!! For He is a loving GOD who is quick to forgive us of all our sins.
